Load "$",8,1
filthflarnJun 23, 2011
,8,1 would load the directory track in the wrong place (like all over the screen) you just need ,8 which is load to default basic address. /nerdmode ;)

You know the original Commodore 64 was a big seller because It was inexpensive and had a load a ram on it (64k was a load in the 1980's.) Then you look at the hardware specs, dual core atom and ion2 gpu? Commodore should of waited for AMD's Llano APU, and released a system with teeth instead of gums.
chomskyknows2Jun 23, 2011
it was a big seller because everyone had 1000 games for it that they pirated
hasahugedigJun 23, 2011
you make the most sense, dunno why you would get dug down...must be computer illiterate people. $900 for dual core atom...what a load of crap.
cantstopwontstopJun 23, 2011
over priced novelty.
desivJun 23, 2011
That's EXACTLY the market they are looking for....... It's a valid market. Sell enough to those and make a second run and you can decrease cost and increase power in that run. (if it makes it..)

Sadly, I have to agree. The high end is too high for what it is, and the low end probably doesn't do much.
Plus, I don't have the old portable 13" TV set from my old bedroom anymore, with the A-B switch attached, so I'd have nothing to hook it up to. (Well, if I'm shooting for the Good Ol' Days, I'd gotta go all out!)
skulczykJun 23, 2011
Why? it's not even Commodore 64, it's a new PC that just looks like it.
koushiroJun 23, 2011
Actually it's supposed to be a Commodore 64 AND a new PC. The software is either there or is coming soon for it.

Old Amiga owner here. Nostalgia is nice but I would buy one on Ebay instead. Stupid to buy this just for memories and no real hardware worth the price.
Is the OS that is promised in the future going to be bootable or run virtually inside the Ubuntu OS?

(Hey, someone who can post DIGGs that get to the front page should post about this Amiga documentary project!!! No, I'm not affiliated, just interested. And I have 3 working Amiga's.. )

I've still got my A4000 with 060/604e CyberstormPPC card, an A1200/060, the ol' A500 and a CD32. They all still work.

Heh i chose the CO CO1 and 2 route and my Commodore friends laughed at me and said IBM units (Tandy) sucked and Commodore was where it was at.
Glad to see these coming back though :)

Does it include the old C64 OS, on a chip, for those with their old
software still around?
koushiroJun 23, 2011
It's supposed to have something like that actually. Either at launch or soon after.
scottyskater77Jun 23, 2011
This is super sweet, but the processor is disappointing.
reneglezJun 23, 2011
I want one! :)
