You do realize that somebody else could have dugg the article before you reported it, thereby negating your digg down, correct?

Works great on mine, but I'm in a high rise in downtown Chicago so I've got a pretty solid signal no matter what I do. I'll test it later today on the commute home.

This thing has more than a broken axle!!! Are we going to watch this horse die a slow death or is somebody going to shoot it?!?
johnnysoftwareSep 10, 2010
huh?
charlotte_webSep 9, 2010
Unfortunately, you can't add it as a Contact; it'll just try to dial the number. You have to store the string somewhere else and copy/paste it.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

This article explains how to keep this feature enabled indefinitely even on a locked, nonjailbreak phone...

Well, at least with this mode you can train yourself to properly hold the iPhone 4.

-96 here with a -84 deathgripped - Still show 5 bars either way. Go Virgin
ginnipigSep 9, 2010
it should go down in dB with the "death grip", not up.
-50 is perfect -120 is total loss.

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1 and I get:
Error performing request
Unknown Error
Does this not work outside the US? (I'm in Canada.)
graemeeSep 9, 2010
You have to type it in fast and in one go. Seems if you wait at the end it times out and gives you that error message.
ginnipigSep 9, 2010
working fine for me in Toronto, on Rogers.
kilodeltaSep 10, 2010
its a small miracle to get anything working fine on Rogers
demdudeSep 10, 2010
Are you sure you're not forgetting the asterisk in the end? That's what gave me that error, adding it worked wonders (on a German iPhone 4 on the German T-Mobile network)
mojo8472Sep 9, 2010
If you jailbreak your iPhone under iOS 4.0.1 and set 'Numeric GSM' in SBSettings, you can keep the number readout after upgrading to 4.1.
Stays on all the time too!

And you can just tap it to turn it back to bars.
RuckusMediaSep 9, 2010
Seems very helpful. Looking forward to testing this!
raidy11moonSep 10, 2010
