norman619Jan 13, 2011
Something tells me your estimate is a bit on the high side...
kellykirkJan 13, 2011
Probably. I haven't checked the stats lately.
cindyblackJan 13, 2011
Since I read this, I see that I am obsessed!
dirtyfriesJan 13, 2011
If people I know are any indication...yes. It's become a paltry substitute for actually keeping in touch with people.
norman619Jan 13, 2011
I use it as a way for people to be able to contact me in the real world. I move around a lot and I keep all my real world contact info updated. It took a while for some of the people I know to get that I will not reply to their facebook messages. That if they wish to talk to me they need to actually call me. I will ignore txt messages for the same reason.
dirtyfriesJan 13, 2011
I think that's a pretty fair cause use.
What I find troubling is, like you describe, using it in lieu of actually getting in touch but just sort of doing it passively.
NewsMeBackJan 13, 2011
Yes we are obsessed and we have new generations who don't know anything else but FB.
feragoJan 13, 2011
Yes people are absolutely obsessed, and it's pretty disgusting.

thatsmrcarterJan 13, 2011
Nobody on Digg should be surprised. Im pretty sure 100% of people on Digg have a facebook profile, and 80% have a twitter. its the way of the world in 2011, its our world now.
weirddemonJan 13, 2011
That's incorrect.
dekkrboyJan 13, 2011
Agreed. I have no facebook, myspace, twitter, linkedin, whatever other social network there may be. Basically I do not exist in the eyes of America.

nkparsanaJan 13, 2011
Everywhere Facebook! It's great idea by Mr Mark. What's the use of doing Facebook...okay its socially connected with everyone, to keep in touch with news very instantly, very quickly, in a fraction of seconds and if we're comparing without facebook, might be we won't be able to get the info & updates at this much of speed.
Everone having a long and damn number of friend lists, but are they really there friends!!! or just "Friends", you know! If we're talking about friendship, then one truth is that we even don't know who is residing in our neighbourhood, or probably we even doesn't have a good, muture and specially honest relationship!
These are also some good facts and everyone, where we've just seen some unbelievable figure of Facebook, should think about this point.
We are not even proving one damn relationship, we're not even bothering to just look after our family members and mostly in US, Old people are just living their own life rather than spending with their grandchildern because they want independence, freedom and their own way of life!!! Strange huh!!! Well, this is the world where most of us heading, but as much time we're spending for doing "Facebook" thingi, we should and must spend time first with our grandfamily and other members. If the Facebook's target is to get socially connected with everyone, then at this point, this really matters a lot and everyone should think fast; First "we" came, then "facebook"!!!
By just doing Facebook, we won't be able to change the world, and this is the truth. If you're asking Are you obsessed with facebook?, then the answer is YES.
booyahbitchJan 13, 2011

ikorkyiJan 13, 2011
