one phone, one carrier and still more market share.
danbarkerOct 3, 2010
No... iOS market share is also counted on iPod touches and iPads.
warragulOct 3, 2010
And the Android stats don't/won't include all those Android iPad and iPod killers?
That's why Android will probably prevail; everybody and his brother making an Android tablet despite Google pushing ChromeOS for the job.
bugmenot2Oct 3, 2010
iPod Touches likely make up a majority of iOS usage.
wilhoitmOct 4, 2010
LOL! Too bad android is so singularly focused! Do they even have a tablet yet?

Just shows that Apple fanboys are so pathetic that they can't live off the internet for two seconds.
Easy when you have no friends. But you know all about that.
Again...remember this to know hw pathetic you are. NO ONE on their deathbed will ever sayu "I wish I spent more time on the internet instead of making love to a beautiful woman." Well...except you.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Article quote:
"..not even closer to iOS’s share. However, Google will take over the first place soon in this competition as many mobile.."
It's difficult to believe this "hack" blog news. Despite the incorrect English, and mistaken statistics, and misleading headlines, if they took the time to read the article, they do correctly state:
Google will take over, soon

So true
TomHanks4Oct 3, 2010
anybody else have no idea what statistic this article is measuring? what is "usage market share"?
jailbrokenOct 3, 2010
It suggests no. of people using Android and iOS operating systems.
TomHanks4Oct 3, 2010
so.. the article says Android is 0.24% and iOS is 1.18%
how does this tell us the # of people using either? is it saying 1.18% of all humans on the planet use iOS?
jailbrokenOct 3, 2010
It probably means Android usage share has gone up by 0.24% and iOS usage share has improved by 1.18%.
TomHanks4Oct 3, 2010
no, it doesn't. they say iOS has "4.9 times the global market share" based on the 0.24 and 1.18 numbers. that clearly indicates those numbers are absolute measurements of something.
i guess you don't understand wtf this article is trying to say any more than i do. thanks anyway
jailbrokenOct 3, 2010
LOL You're so confused!
TomHanks4Oct 3, 2010
i am confused, but you seem unable to answer this simple question: what statistic is this article measuring?
frykeOct 4, 2010
Those "usage shares" are probably measuring what web browser was used on a set of web sites. The laaarge numbers not visible in the chart would be IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc. on computers.

With so many cheap Android iClones, it's just a matter of time until Android takes the lead. iPhone still favored to those that can afford it.
srk998Oct 3, 2010
Mathematical Proof that iPhone is not a real phone:
iPhone = i(Phone)
But (i = sqrt(-1)) is not a real number. And we know anything multiplied by a non-real number is non-real.
Therefore, iPhone is not a real phone. It goes for all the (Apple) products that are of the form i(product name).

I read this as Android comes with more features out of the box, so you don't need to download as many apps to achieve the functionality you want.
jaredb03Oct 3, 2010
Well apple does have a 22 month advantage on Android. iPhone first introduced January 9, 2007, first android phone was October 21, 2008. If you look at the iPhones market share 22 months ago it is at about .20%.
