Freedom for the "i" devices of this world!

i still don't get why peopel jailbreak/root their phones. is it because they think it makes them feel like hackers or something?
if a phone doesn't do what you want it to do, STOP BUYING THEM OVER AND OVER.
rooting your phone just lets the vendors get away with making less-than products.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I have a feeling you're mixed up.
A large percentage of people that "jailbreak" their iPhones because this will allow them to pirate applications.
Second - The phone is more than capable of doing what the "users" want. Jailbroken.

Because no phone that isn't jailbroken can do as much as a jailbroken iPhone?
I don't know why people wouldn't jailbreak their phone. It's undetectable if you decide to restore back, it adds a ton of features, and allows developers freedom to sell their app without having to conform to App Store policies.
Vendors would be MORE inclined to make better products if their jailbroken products are better than non-jailbroken, because ultimately they want to control the platform and don't want people to jailbreak their products.

again, all you are doing is rewarding the phone vendors for making sub-standard phones by rooting them yourselves.
not sure why you can't see this, but if rooting your phone makes you feel like a bad-ass, then rock on.

I'll wait for the PwnageTool from the good ole regular iPhone Dev Team. I don't trust anyone else to do it right.
