Indeed. I've convinced myself that the Galaxy Tab is my choice, but at the same time, if I had a 7" iPad with a retina display, I'd have to think twice.

I find the 4" screen on my Droid X to be too small... and the ipad to be too big at times... a 7 incher would be goldilocks...

7" is too small for an iPad. I like the big screen of the iPad!

7" can be held with the back of your hand wrapped around it, like a notebook. I'd actually say 7-8" is much more in the vein of what a slate PC should be like (a portable notebook) and not a couch-based web browser (which the iPad has become).

The only thing I'm excited about with this is the thought of other companies wanting to compete and start also using 128+ gb drives in their portable devices. I need more options to hold my expansive music collection.. (Also, Archos 70 internet tablet)

What's the point of a 7 inch screen? Once you are above 4 inches it is beyond pocket sized.
Carrying around a 7 and a 9.7 inch screen is equally inconvenient, so I'd rather have the 9.7 inch screen. I don't know how anyone can say the iPad is too big. If you need a smaller gadget that you can use all the time you get a smartphone.

My phone is 5.5. inches diagonally (4.5" screen) and it very easily fits in my pants pocket with plenty of room to spare. However 7" is definitely too big I think
