That's amazing! I wonder how much this number will increase with all the Verizon suscribers that will soon be downloading a ton of apps??
rsterkenburgJan 20, 2011
Even thousands of customers wouldn't put a big dent in 10,000,000,000.

great

You have a chance of winning without downloading anything. There is an online entry form to fill out with a limit of 25 entries per person per day.
http://www.apple.com/itunes/10-billion-app-countdown/entry-form/
The catch is that the entry form must be submitted after the download of the 9,999,999,999th app and before the 10 billionth, so submitted anything now will be pointless (assuming the countdown page is close to being accurate in real-time. This also means that if you do happen to download the 10 billionth app you still might not win as someone might have submitted the online entry form at the exact right time, but of course you will most likely never know that.
Who the f**k could spend $10k on itunes stuff? Since it is one gift card and not credit to your account, I would probably sell it online and could possibly get about 75% the value of it.

i hope it would be an apple gift card, i would use it to get a macbook pro a mac pro and a gigantic cinema display
jacquelynekJan 20, 2011
meh. leave the card for people who appreciate it :P theres plenty of us out there.

Well if its all on Apps then they are only giving out $7,000 dollars as they take their 30% cut.
dannyking98Jan 22, 2011
you can also use the gift cards in the apple store as provided from adrian a helpful chat person so if i win i will buy a few macs and ipods and stuff:D

Does "sold" include all of the free apps? They do send you a receipt every time you download a free app so I'm willing to bet yes.
militantrabbitJan 20, 2011
Yes they do.
selfgrantJan 20, 2011
I do not believe they are so ... i think it's just a marketing trick?
rsterkenburgJan 20, 2011
They do it with the iTunes store too - try to make it seems like "everyone else" is buying things, and you should too. Really I would be amazed if free apps and iTunes downloads weren't over 80% of the total.
ndelangenJan 20, 2011
me neither, 90% of all apps I use are free
