Android are dominating the market at the moment, would love to see them one day overtake apps downloaded from the Apple store! :)

The problem with Android apps is they dont vet individual apps - anyone can put anything on the app market. iPhone individually check each app. I am not an apple fanboy, but the only two decent sized app market places are apple and android, and currently apple have the quality and quantity advantage. Google need to sort it out...Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I precisely don't like that of iphone, I don't like to had to get their blessing for any program of mine. if a program sucks, I can uninstall it, and thats it.

"anyone can put anything the app market"
god forbid we have freedom. its soooo scary. please, corporate entity that I love and surrender my rights to, keep me safe!

@chris and Tom its not about freedom its about monitoring quality. If you make bread, and its burnt, dry and stale then try and sell it at a supermarket you won't be allowed to sell it. Why should bad apps be allowed onto the market place. But its not even bad apps that Apple block, because there is tons of trash out there - Apple scan for potential security threats with apps. An App which looks like a currency converter but actually scans all contacts, and uploads them to someone elses server is not a bad app, it is a malicious app. Android currently have no way to prevent this - and this is why there have been so many security threats.
Obviously my comment has been buried because everyone is so anti apple, and thats fine - i personally dont care, there are benefits to both, and I think Android have done an amazing job, made a great product (which is free) - BUT that doesnt mean they dont have a responsibility to the security of peoples data, which currently they havent been keeping amazing tabs on.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I can appreciate your stance, but it's based in false ideas. Apple's locked down ecosystem is to ensure they make money, and to ensure no one can introduce an app that competes with them.
Any benefit to the consumer is simply a convenient side effect.
my opinion: Putting your trust into the hands of a corporation with obvious financial interest is foolish. Being personally responsible is a far better approach.
