Well. It's been a year since I've upgraded. I could use a 6-core. But really, who couldn't? I'm going to name my new computer Kerrigan.

i've got a q6600 and honestly i sometimes wonder why I don't have a dual core cpu instead.
netantSep 23, 2010
Its a legitimate perspective. The Core2 Quad 6600 has a relatively slow CPU clock, and the other cores would NOT be used with OLD programs and pre-Vista. Even on the Linux end, it doesn't do as much threading/forking optimization on the OS level. The problem is if you're not an uber hardware geek, you're not going to know if the latest, greatest CPU really is most cost effective for what you do on the computer.

That sounds like it might be pretty badass.

I hope the low cost will be passed onto users.

The 1055T has been sub $250 for a long time now. The price isn't what makes the new 1075T important, it's that there is finally a middle product between the 1055T and the 1090T.

The cool thing about it is that I can use these processors on any of my current boards. My Christmas shopping list is beginning to take shape. Sweet.
