sabazouJun 26, 2010
People think everything looks like Facebook.
floguyJun 26, 2010
What's "Facebook"?
canyoucountJun 26, 2010
No, *you're* a <strike>towel</strike>Facebook!
sfrenchJun 26, 2010
*like*
motangJun 26, 2010
I like it's much faster, so NoSQL is really helping out. The interface...well I need to get used to it.
sabazouJun 26, 2010
Have any of those commenters ever used http://digg.com/ ? The blue bar has been around for ages
thejakemarshJun 26, 2010
The new digg looks awesome. People need to not be so stupid.
canyoucountJun 26, 2010
I wish I was one of the cool people like me who are able to comment on this story on the NEW digg.com. Hey.. wait a minute.. I'm a cool person like me!
danbarkerJun 29, 2010

californicationJun 26, 2010
Who really gives a s**t? Really. It's a web site. Get over it.
darren07Jun 26, 2010
when is the new digg kevin was talking about the other day coming out
jimh542Jun 26, 2010
i hope for a reject filter. I don't want to read about certain subjects, but so far there is no way to keep them out of sight. the best there has been up now is the ability to filter categories but not keywords. let's say I don't want to read about anything related to "church" or "pope". I can't simply filter on those words and not have to read headlines about that.
banskiJun 26, 2010
It would also be great if it was possible to block specific sources like the daily mail for example... and if i block a user their submissions should also be blocked
douglasqJun 26, 2010
I'm not sure if you're just frustrated by papal child bothering bulls**t, or if you're catholic and want to bury your head in the sand.
wildJun 26, 2010
Ah yes, moving further towards a world where we can hear only what we want hear...
vibr8Jun 26, 2010
Reddit is better
nheerdesignJul 2, 2010
Digg now has arrows instead of thumbs, too.
waleedoJun 26, 2010
still slow as s**t.
paduraJun 26, 2010
How do you know when it hasn't been released yet ? :) I hope next version will be faster.
sfrenchJun 27, 2010
are you high? or just on a 14.4 modem? Look at the page generation times on the bottom bar. They are sub- 1 second, and much of the time less than 400ms
penelernJun 26, 2010
I only watched a movie...looks very interesting...
jayadelsonJun 26, 2010
This is pretty amazing, guys. Very impressed, glad to see these ideas taking shape!

Where is the Bury button? we want to bury!
nixie77Jun 26, 2010
Now you get an x.
hammburglarJun 27, 2010
I agree with you so much i buried you just so digg knows that we love burying.
cryodinJun 26, 2010
Does Digg need a new design?
This is like those "revolutionary" airplane technology advances... HUGE IMPROVEMENT IN THE AIRCRAFT!! 30% LESS WEIGHT!!
In the end, all this crap helps only the COMPANY, not the users.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
greatbigjerkJun 26, 2010
Actually it's meant to help users since the current system forces people to get people outside of Digg to digg a story up. The new way allows you to follow your friends and favourite sites without having to get a Digg links spammed at you via Twitter or Facebook.
greatbigjerkJun 26, 2010
Using it right now. It's very clean and nice but there doesn't appear to be a way to bury stories! Hopefully it's just an alpha bug or something they haven't implemented yet.
The My News page is pretty nice since I get to see a lot of content that I normally would have never seen on the Digg frontpage. I'm not really sure how useful it'll be for sharing links with friends or social network contacts since people who only post links once in a while get their stories kicked off the My News page by power users and blogs that I follow who post like five items at a time.
It'd be nice to be able to assign some people as "Actual friends" and have their content show above the main list in My News. That way I'd be able to see stuff posted by people I actually know AND the blogs/sites/etc that I like. The way it currently is will still favour power users too much.
sfrenchJun 27, 2010
When you hover over stories, there is a grey "x" that will show up. That's the "kill button" (as I call it). I plan on using it for a general purpose "hide this" or an "I'm done with this", as well as a bury button.
I would also expect that there would be some intelligence added to my news as well to take into account some of the things you mentioned.
kernel16Jun 26, 2010
I don't follow anyone, nor do I care to make any friends on Digg, I just come here to see what articles are in the upcoming (none user matching version) and in the top pages. This new Digg doesn't seem to want me around. Basically, my main point is that I don't filter anything, I want it all and let me just bitch in the comments about it.
greatbigjerkJun 26, 2010
Then you can get that by looking at the top news. It's basically the exact same thing as the current Digg front page.
bannedwagonJun 26, 2010
Looks like this article was promoted to the font page because it was Mashable, who has always worked with digg in a certain compacity. Look at the submitter... 1st submission that was promoted and he's not active at all. Has no friends on digg and hit the front page with 83 diggs. The most he ever got before that was 9 diggs, 2nd was 7, 3rd was 5....most were 1 (His digg for submitting it). Hmmm, preferential treatment? Yep. Sites are obviously white-listed and helped along when it helps digg as well. Nuff said!Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
xstexJul 1, 2010Submitter
It has nothing to do with my stats, I was the first one to digg it on mashable as when I refreshed the page on mashable it had just been posted, things about diggs change are surely going to be digged.
noupsellJun 27, 2010
you can see who sub'd just takes an extra click
noupsellJun 27, 2010

I think the new digg is very clean in design. Much better.
echuuJun 27, 2010
Love this.
spideyfanJun 27, 2010
Really like the new Digg. Ties everything together nicely. Thanks Leo Laporte, Kevin Rose and TWIT for the preview.
tenayareneJun 27, 2010
I am really liking the feel of the new digg. I really think that the color scheme gives it a Facebook feel, but it is not Facebook by any means
timbro1Jun 27, 2010
i quite like the new look of digg
binaryactionsJun 27, 2010
yeah i agree, i think the new digg will be my homepage.
pcresslerJun 28, 2010

worpJun 28, 2010

johoshuaJun 28, 2010
I just noticed after a day of using the new DIGG. No iFrames on links. Kevin wasn't lying!
blackjeeepJun 29, 2010
I like it so far. Its way easier to keep track of things.
daankragtJul 1, 2010
I love the new Digg :) It's perfect (even now that its still in alpha)!
dan_sJul 1, 2010
I miss the up-and-coming stories in the categories that was located in the lower right hand corner of the page.
inajeepJul 1, 2010
Just got into Alpha. I didn't see much information on new features so looking around these are my first impressions.
1. Can't bury stories any longer?
2. Can't browse newly submited stories (maybe due to being alpha)
3. I prefer the digg /bury buttons for the comments on the left.
4. I do like seeing the followers comments at the top of the comments although I don't know how well that will work with long threaded discussions.
5. The interface seems much faster and the loading does too. Is this on different servers and with only thousands of people it may not be a good load indication but I am happy so far.
6. Reading the news stories front page, I can not tell if I like it yet. Seems busy to me to a point that divisions between comments and stories are harsh and maybe they should be more like the comments where the divided lines are shaded.

amen. This is awesome. Love it. Beautiful evolution.
oddishJul 2, 2010
Please allow me to set my own date limits. Let's say I've been away for three days and I'd like to see what I've missed. My only option currently is to click "7 days" and wade through tons of stuff I've already seen.
syclonefxJul 6, 2010
I like it.
mrmadmikeybJul 13, 2010
I like the My News, I also like everything else about it, it's miles better than old.digg, and looks nothing like facebook, no clue what these guys are on about.
coolsilverAug 26, 2010
Much cleaner..... Reminds me of Digg 1.6 :D
coachwormerSep 11, 2010
Digg is now officially a s**thole.
blu330ciracerOct 21, 2010
I think the new digg is much better, it seems like a lot of other people are liking it too. This guy even wrote an article about using digg to get more followers on twitter, get more traffic to your website, and even get more followers on digg. The article shares some worthy advice for anyone that is serious about building a brand through social media.
