ZX-12R is worth mentioning 186mph (limited)Hell even a cbr1000RR can go 178mphI guess they are going on one bike per company? Also worth pointing out Japanese bikes have been limited by a gentlemans agreement to 186mphSo no new japanese bike will go faster than this unless modified. It would be interesting to see the stock ones only chipped to see which bike really is the fastest!!
it also has the busa as the fastest bike (ok bar the Y2K)....however a year or 2 ago all Jap manufacturers decided to limit their bikes to 186mph (hense the ZZ14's top speed). as mikiex pointed outso the busa is no long the fastest on its own (as its restricted), and the ZZR is the fastest if you remove the restriction (it will do 186 in both 5th AND 6th gears).
Bikes have better handling than cars? Depends on what you mean by "handling." 2 wheels have less grip than 4 wheels, period. Cars can pull far more G's in a turn than bikes and, thus, can hit higher cornering speeds on the same turn. The gyroscope effect you just mentioned resists tilting, reducing the driver's ability to make fast turn transitions. Just to give you an idea:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6HRDChdC_w
OK I'm not sure what the argument is here but i can easily see the topic. i have a 07 600RR, great bike, 600s of today are easily the 1000s of yesterday, if u get what I'm saying. anyhow i ride wit a turbo busa, n a few other 07 ninjas... in the twisties, straight line, whichever, my buddy doesn't have a problem rippin it up. its all bout the rider, not just the bike. and yes the zx14 is fastest street legal production bike out at this point in time. the busa was until the zx14 was finally released to surpass it. that's just my .02 ... I'm not here to correct anyone, just giving what little i know to the public.
This is a great site with plenty of variety for every kind of biker. But I have to say some of those bikes are to much for this old man. I'll have to stick to my cruisers,
If there was no gentle mans agreement between japanese and european manufacturesrs regulatinf the top speed of hyper sport motorcycles we could have seen a lot more street legal motorcycles that are capable of 400+ kms.But the fact is u cannot ride the bikes at that speed

Yet again, it's not a PRODUCTION motorcycle.
