Stop the MPAA and RIAA shadow government

defectivebydesign.org — The entertainment industry buys off senators and in return they get gifts like the "Enforcement of Intellectual Property Act". Though the bill was recently revised to remove some offensive provisions, it is still unacceptable. Join DefectiveByDesign today in calling your senators to throw light on this shadow government. — Submitted Sep 26, 2008

If they'd like to get somewhere, they should try coming off less like kooks. Using ridiculous exaggerations like "shadow government" doesn't help. Especially since this is the same outfit that tried to DOS Apple customer service, to "protest" iPhone restrictions.

Every individual has a right to act, speak and think without restraint or hinderance. The MPAA or RIAA wants these rights revoked because it hinders their control over the music. Something they've been used to for so long because they were able to control the media broadcasters. Your choices are dependent on others. So they want to change your actions, control your thoughts and they don't want you to have a say. You feel there is nothing you can do. You don't hate these organizations, but you don't love them either. Your actions online have to go hidden and condemned illegal. That's because your freedom has been revoked. It's illegal because some mafia organization called the RIAA and MPAA says so.
