Looks innovative as hell.
skektekAug 21, 2010
How so? It is a Segway that you sit on.
diggavatarAug 20, 2010
If I was looking for a FUN ride, I'd choose this over an electric assist bike any day!
arkzAug 21, 2010
dont think it would be quite the same off-road though.. or achieve the same speeds
joolz404Aug 21, 2010
Does it in *any* way look like it was designed for off-road?
arkzAug 21, 2010
Uhhh...Thats my point, he said he'd chose it over an electric assist bike any day
dchaffinAug 21, 2010
No doubt! The scooter looks cool too. :)
deafbeatAug 20, 2010
now that thing looks cool and dangerous at the same time..
darthsandAug 21, 2010
I need to get that...
ziriuxAug 21, 2010
Wow that's a sic piece of equipment.
rockiroad278Aug 21, 2010
"Wow that's a sic [sic] piece of equipment."
bumba1988Aug 21, 2010
Wow! That's really awesome!
mrquackerAug 21, 2010
Cool and all, but it needs to be more idiot-proofed before I'll buy one.
dsanonlineAug 21, 2010
I want one.

Blocked by OpenDNS: "Phishing Site Blocked: Phishing is a fraudulent attempt to get you to provide personal information under false pretenses."
I'm guessing this is a scam.
sab0tageAug 21, 2010
I got that to, but from looking at it via http://rror.im it seems ok. They definately have a working prototype.
rmxzAug 21, 2010
"I'm guessing this is a scam."
By "this", I guess you mean OpenDSN's phishing filtering?
dralezeroAug 21, 2010
Funny this is on the same front page of Tech as the article about upgrading your DNS.

So stippers are going to show up at your door on those?
shozikuAug 21, 2010
yes, wearing the sexy cop uniform. advertisements don't LIE!
4dfxAug 21, 2010
Because the two-wheel motor isn't dangerous enough as it is...
rockiroad278Aug 21, 2010
Awesome, but f**k all if the gryo goes haywire.
torturorAug 21, 2010
Do you come with the scooter?
Oh you, hee hee hee.
shozikuAug 21, 2010
do you think I'm going to buy it just because you make that whipping sound?
joolz404Aug 21, 2010
These comments blow. Where's the bury brigade when you need them??
808atheistAug 21, 2010
Imagine how many of those you could fit in a single auto parking space. This type of thing should be mastered then encouraged for commuters. Unless you're wife and kids work at the same place, theres no reason to park a 5 person car outside your office 280 days a year.
mweatherAug 21, 2010
Yeah, let's all commute at 10mph.
808atheistAug 21, 2010
Yeah serious fix that. 10 mph is not mastered scientists!!
randy08Aug 21, 2010
It looks even more gay than a Segway.
shozikuAug 21, 2010
I dunno, the segway is pretty gay. I say lets let them duke it out on the playground after school.
meachenAug 21, 2010
My ferret is faster than that.....
tequilacollinsAug 21, 2010
So, which one am I supposed to ride? The one on the right, or the one on the left?
skektekAug 21, 2010
You take the one on the right, I'll take the one on the left.
demonicumeAug 21, 2010
The should move the seat further back to distribute the weight better. i wouldnt want to lean forward over one wheel like that.
rif42Aug 21, 2010
Ryno? Is that the company of the Canadian guy that made this one-wheel motorcycle some years ago?
Here is an alternative that takes up even less space. Enicycle:

I'd like to see what happens when you jam on the brakes.
ramondayAug 21, 2010
Exactly. Or better yet, suddenly lose power.
mrbitchAug 22, 2010
All good points, but before you bash this thing too hard, this comment is a good read ( FTA comments ) :
naysayer says:
“Why, why, why? Just get a regular scooter. Notice they don’t show it going over bumps or curbs, most likely because it cant. "
You ever see a video of the early flight attempts by the Wright brothers? Their plane didn’t look very f**king useful, either. I’m not saying this will revolutionize transportation the way flight did, but just because the early models aren’t perfect doesn’t mean it’s a useless invention.

It's no worse than a Segway.
shozikuAug 21, 2010
yet at the same time, no better than a segway. but it looks cool. ooh maybe thats the same reason why iFans buy apple stuff no matter the cost or functionality.
lokithecomplexAug 21, 2010
I'm waiting on the two wheeled version.
zbeastAug 21, 2010
it's a cute toy, not very practical.
I can on my r1... I can take a corner at 140mph... can do that at any standard street corner at 80 mph..I can max out at
180mph... you can't do any thing like that on any single wheel device.
grantmoore3dAug 21, 2010
It's not meant to replace a motorcycle.
grantmoore3dAug 21, 2010
Now that is a "scooter" I would actually want to ride. If someone had told me as a kid that something like that would exist in my lifetime, I wouldn't have believed them.
shozikuAug 21, 2010
the bike is extremely sexy. but I don't think it will pass the tests to make it street legal. the one thing that will prevent it will be its stability to stay upright. If it varies at all the headlights will not shine right, possibly blinding drivers or not providing enough headlight distance to the road. the angle of headlights is very important, the distance they shine must be stable, and a one wheeled vehicle won't be able to maintain that accurately.
kallstarAug 21, 2010
This puts me a huge step closer to becoming gizmoduck!
luciferactualAug 21, 2010
OpenDNS said this sites kung-fu is no good. Phishing.
