mashable.com— If you use Last.fm and live outside of the US, UK, or Germany, you might need to get your wallet out. The online radio service has announced that users outside of those countries (their 3 most popular) will need to start paying €3.00 (about $4.40 USD) per month to continue using Last.fm. — Submitted Mar 24, 2009
"Last.fm explains, “Everything else on Last.fm (scrobbling, recommendations, charts, biographies, events, videos etc.) will remain free in all countries, like it is now.”"Now stop burying my comment for inaccuracy....
Obviously from a tecnical point of view there is a big difference, but I'm irritated at the american centric attitude of many of these countries. We all live on the same s**tty rock and its hard enough to get along as it is.
I agree entirely, I used to happily pay $5 USD a month for the services offered by Last.FM, but as a Canadian, I think this is disgusting. I feel like I'm either being charged for not belonging to some abject countries, or I'm paying for them to have free service. Why am I expected to lump this fee so that some of the richest countries in the world can listen free?Excuse my language, but F*** that and F*** last.fm, I'm not paying for that.
