Anyone know if this works for google app accounts? I have google apps for my domain and use it for my buisness emails, but I also still actively use my personal gmail. It would be kinda nice if I could log into both and see them in one tab without doing any forwarding or other work-arounds.

Apologize in advance for not reading the article as it's blocked by firewall. I have two accounts, one personal/one for business, and I hope that this moves over to Android so that I can receive emails from both accounts through the native GMail application. While mail forwarding works well enough, the problem is the app doesn't allow you to reply to emails using the address it was sent to (e.g. my business address), it only can reply using the address you're signed in with (which is my personal one). Minor gripe, but allowing us to merge accounts via Android would be a huge help.
In other news, I love bacon, net neutrality, and that chick from Mad Men's boobs. Thank you.

As of Android 2.0 you can configure multiple gmail and google apps accounts (Settings -> Accounts & Sync) and have enable/disable contacts, mail, and calendar individually for each account. In the gmail app you will see a button that shows which synced account you're looking at.

It's optional. Also, if you wanted to be certain that google didn't know who you were (or at least which accounts belong to one person), you would never sign in on the same computer, probably use different ISPs to log in (I don't trust proxies), or safer still, go to a local Community College or Library and use their computers. In short, a lot of hassle.

Great idea, but activating your account to be linked to your other accounts will disable Google Calendar, so that's a deal-breaker for me.

They have your IP all the time, so they can tell who has what. The best escape is to go somewhere public and ONLY use that account while away from home, or use some kind of VPN.

Create YouTube Account "B" using a Gmail that is same name as A; "A@Gmail.com"
Forget your password clusterf**k. I had to delete YouTube account B to unlink YouTube from A@Gmail.com because that Gmail account had a different password than YouTube A so IF I forgot my password I could only recover the YouTube.

That is a good idea, it took me a minute to get, but that is a good idea. Just in case anyone does not get it, I think he means something along the lines of "If someone were to create a youtube account, without linking it to a Gmail account, and lets say they make the username johndoe, and link it to a johndoe@yahoo.com, and then they could create a johnndoe@gmail account, and then there will be 2 usernames with johndoe that can log on to youtube, and that could potentially cause a proglem".

This might be handy. At the moment, I've got a Gmail account I use for mail and iGoogle, a YouTube account linked to that, my original YouTube account that for some reason won't link to an email (and I get reminded to link it every time I log in) and I use Google Docs with a second email account (because I don't like giving people my other mail address).

I had to use my website's email address when I signed up for adsense. Except my adsense login is now the same as my gmail login. So in order to log in to adsense (and youtube) I have to put in a different e-mail address, and for my gmail, which is my main e-mail, I put in my username. It's really annoying, considering that up till now you couldn't link the two.
