news.cnet.com— Jewelry designer is stunned when Facebook removes a picture of a porcelain doll sitting next to her jewelry, because the doll's nipples are visible. After a week, Facebook finally apologizes.
Jul 11, 2010View in Crawl 4
Exactly, any child that hasn't seen a nipple either their mothers or their own, has much bigger issues than naked dolls. I'm so freakin' sick of this insane censor-happy society.
The children have the internet. They encounter twelve worse pop-ups on their way to facebook. And the really perverted ones specifically turned the pop-up blocker off to see naked chicks.
"You can invest thousands of dollars and months of your time building a new campaign and you put it on sites like Facebook and Flickr and it just takes one person [complaining] to bring the thing down."
Hmm...
Quick, someone complain about Facebook! Who knows, it just might work!
Here's an idea: Don't build a campaign on an assh**e-run site like Facebook. How many people have to have their product pages inexcusably deleted (even after they BUY ad space from Facebook to promote them) before people learn?
Why is it tolerable to spend money or even time on a company that works so hard to HIDE FROM ITS CUSTOMERS? After ripping people off, Facebook simply rests behind its own bulkhead of anonymity.
They're way overpriced considering you can get the same(ish) thing for around 500 to 600-- still kind of expensive, but nowhere near $2k. http://www.dreamofdoll.com/
Am I the only one who gets annoyed when I read about private companies "apologizing" when someone complains?
Nobody's forcing her to use Facebook, and if the company decides to take a picture down that they deemed inappropriate, she should have just went somewhere else.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
Human kind would move a couple steps forward, and we would solve a lot of problems if we could all accept that seeing natural anatomy will not do any harm. (yes even a penis! omg!) If for whatever reason you don't want to see it, stop looking! If someone is forcing you to look that would be harassment which is illegal in it's own right.
I do apologize for the rant, but I am quite tired of people freaking out when they see an ass, a nipple, a dick, etc. Get over it. Its made out of the same stuff as your nose and ears.
Castrate and neuter all that will resolve any further infractions and within one generation problem solved, we become extinct and the c**kroaches can take over, oh wait, the c**kroaches are in charge of facebook...I furgot :(
I had a picture of my friend (male) wearing the equivalent of a loin cloth up on facebook and they took it down (he was covered more than a speedo would cover someone) . Also, my female friend who is model has some nude-but-covered pictures they took down too (she was covered more than most people's beach pictures). Facebook is really retarded about this.
I knew a guy months ago that got a picture removed because it was a picture of him shirtless by the grill. Though to us it was more funny than something we all got upset about. He relentlessly posts pictures of himself nearly every day.
I have a feeling a lot of these pictures get taken down because someone reports them (either someone stupid or as a joke). Facebook is known for removing any content that might cause controversy before the situation is even thought through. Usually they don't correct their mistakes unless someone complains.
Just look at the "Can this Pickle get more fans than Nickleback" facebook page. That was taken down for a week just because Nickleback complained. However, enough support got it put back up.
Remeber now, this is America. They can show murder after murder on the s**t prime time networks, but oh no, don't eve3r, ever try to show a breast or a chick in a thong. Now wonder people are so uptight.

Reminds me of that episode of /How It's Made/ where they make mannequins. The producers blur the mannequins' genitalia.
