Proofread Much?
zackkitzmillerJul 1, 2010
I suppose it's fair to get dugg down, but It's really, really poorly written. Just like most things I write.

Was in a rush last night when I sent that out to folks internally. We just decided to throw that out there today (publicly) in case folks we wondering. I'll proof read more next time. I don't have much time to write :)

Man, that's a lot of Diggs Down.
I just find sentences like:
Once we tried on production, not so well.
-and-
This value is extremely high!
Could use a little work, that's all. Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I'm using the new digg now tho, and I admit this rocks incredibly so far. Its fast, efficient, and easy on the eyes. I think the social aspect of it, though i'm sure I probably won't be using too much of it, has a lot of potential.
The only problem I have with it is the taking away of the 'bury' button, and replacing it with, 'hide story', lol. Doesn't quite sound as cool.

I like the transparency guys! Well done.
gameguy45Jul 1, 2010
also great transparency to the users!

Great work, nonetheless.

Seriously smooth experience, enjoying it a lot!

I'm really liking this new layout. Not sure if this one is better, or if I was just getting tired of the old one. Either way, nice work! I love that you can see the most dugg comments in the top right.

Thumbsup :)

I do think a few things need to be fixed,
If nothing is left, don't have a show more button, it's kind of a waste of space, it should only show stuff when stuff is hidden due to page constraints.
I miss the size of the old comments form, but the small one is probably more screen size friendly, and the blue text is kind of annoying, because it makes you think the page isn't fully clicked, even though you know the input form has focus.
it looks more like a preview or something, and I personally prefer black over white, the blue text is a slight eyesour due to the faintness of it, but I can get used to it, its just wierd, it's almost like they were trying to make a blue that would match the layout, but not look like a giant clickable url.

Looks really clean and everything works fast! I usually hate big changes, but this is impressive.
There is only one thing is quite disturbing. When you enter a thread, all comments and replies are unfolded
zamliJul 2, 2010
hmm, i edited this comment. But no changes.
I found the setting to make the comments fold. So problem fixed :)

too many diggs ?

I'm quite enjoying the Digg Alpha, great work so far guys (I'm assuming we're not NDA'ed, I don't remember agreeing to one at some point)! I really didn't think that I'd enjoy the whole dual classic-mode and social-modes seeing as I have no active friends on digg, but its still working as a nice twist on the upcoming stories feature.
Out of pure professional curiosity Chris, I noticed your Django avatar, and I was curious if any piece of Digg4 is influenced at all by Django (whether it be architecturally or the presumable in-house PHP framework you're using)?

Digg4 is a big improvement. Very well done.

I'm loving it for the most part. But I miss all the profile information, you cant see their story ratio on the profile page anymore. Also, even though I don't use twitter there is a lot of screen space unused on the profile page where your easily pop in a place for their latest tweets.

All -- if you haven't tried adding your blog feed yet -- do it. I was extremely impressed with the ease of import (just add the hash value as a comment in any post in your feed). What really impressed me was the post graphics were selected for the posts automagically. Great job Digg team. Oh yeah... go here now: http://new.digg.com/settings/feeds
cvrti5Jul 11, 2010
I thought the graphics were not being chosen correctly in RSS feeds. It just seems to pull my profile photo for a picture submission. Or it pulls nothing for a Google Buzz post.
bille3Aug 27, 2010
No way to search for previous digg posts.
I do not like to be taken to google without my permission
when I hit return I never go back to where I was
