An example of how cumbersome and annoying it was to do even the most simple things on computers not so long ago.
What is shown is very likely the ACTUAL output of that session (meaning, she didn't print it afterwards). There was a time when you did your work on a terminal that was part printer, part keyboard. All your interactions were printed on paper as you typed and got responses from the computer.
My first programming class in HS was on teletypes at 110 baud connection to a Magnuson (I think) computer. Early college days weren't much better-- Digital Computer deckwriter (LA123?). It was a "luxury" to use an actual green-screen terminal and there were usually 30-60 minutes waits to get on one with usually a 1 hour time limit you could use it.
