Shielding your screen from people at an Internet Cafe, logging into an AOL account? Its a good job Obama brought in the NDAA, because they're going to be busy by the looks of it!

So if someone goes out and buys 2-way radios, a GPS device, batteries and flashlight bulbs that's considered "unusual"?
nitoriFeb 7, 2012
That list reads to me if you are not some clueless chump who would panic and probably die if anything went wrong or have any kind of a personal opinion you are a terrorist.
zbeastFeb 7, 2012
that just sounds like the start of a good night out.
U_logic_error_broFeb 7, 2012
why don't they just come out and say everyone is a suspect?

Goodbye newegg, goodbye Fry's. Goodbye to my electronic projects, the feds want me to watch Dancing with the Idiots instead. Goodbye cursing other gamers online, the feds say there's already a British chef on TV that does it for me. Goodbye paying with cash because I need quarters to do my laundry, the feds say that payment processors need them more than I do.
A country with the brightest minds in the world ... and ... it's just sad.

You got to be kidding it's time to fire the people running the FBI as they are the real terrorists.
ferretmanFeb 7, 2012
What a dumb list.
dagr8timFeb 7, 2012
It sounds like if you can do anything for yourself or like to build anything. You're a terrorist.
I guess I'm the next Bin Laden. Being as I'm a Ham radio operator, I buy tons of batteries (because I have kids), and I enjoy building electrical things that require soldering.
gkiltzFeb 7, 2012
Just plain delusional!!!

It's too bad that we can't get huge numbers of people to really start calling in "tips" when they witness any of these "signs." In no time we'd swamp the system and make it clear just how ridiculous all this is.
By the way, in no way am I suggesting making anything up. It'd only be honest if we were to base our "tips" on real observations. But hell, they're so damned vague that I'll bet we can each find a couple of "offenders" every day.
"Overly concerned about privacy" indeed.

sounds like jeff foxworthy's you might be a redneck if....
mazebotFeb 7, 2012
Hey I remember a list like that,
who was it that had people notice these things
good people of acient greece, No
Nomads?, No
oh yeah - Nazies
blankmikeFeb 7, 2012
You might be a terrorist if you: Breathe on your own. ;-)
Seriously though, this is a political story. Just because someone owns some tech hardware does not make them a terrorist or make this a tech story. This whole terrorist thing is largely the result of some paranoid minds getting together and feeding off of each other.
backmufuckaFeb 7, 2012
this piece of s**t article looks like it was made like 20 years ago, embarrassing. whole thing could be from a dodgy 90's film.
extremephobiaFeb 8, 2012
I have people come in and ask all sorts of questions about my product. They don't have the first clue of the specifications of anything and yet buy large quantities. Sometimes they even pay hundreds of dollars worth in cash.
I work in a chocolate shop.
This list might as well read, "Use your better judgement because these are only indicators that the person may or may not be suspicious."
inferiorcatwomanFeb 8, 2012
Radio frequencies used and UNUSED by law enforcement??? WTF, I really don't understand that.
Also, you're a terrorist if you envelope budget, cause you use cash.
dralezeroFeb 8, 2012
Some people still think the need to run the AOL software to get online. This will teach them.
neamerjellFeb 7, 2012
If you are standing on American soil... you might be a terrorist. If you are a Halloween decoration with a ventriloquist's hand up your arse, you might be Achmed the dead terrorist.

"Hackers penetrate and ravage delicate public and privately owned computer systems, infecting them with viruses, and stealing materials for their own ends. These people, they are terrorists." --Agent Gill
carshybridFeb 7, 2012
Good idea to detect terrorist use of electric cars
News_AddictFeb 7, 2012
People over dressed for the weather? That would make most people in Northern England potential terrorists.
akronFeb 7, 2012
I think putting up these lists makes you a terrorist suspect...
