its getting harder and harder to stand out from the digital noise and crowd!

It is getting harder and harder, but I think the hardest thing is to get clients to be open to designs that aren't "hip" / overused.

Color-coordinated compound words = solid gold.

I agree, but I find that plain text logos are beginning to get overused. Google, facebook, and Apple Computer look good, plus it's clean, but I personally think that others should think of more original logos. Not saying it should be super-flashy, but at least have some flair to it. Just my two cents *shrugs*

Buttons are the way to go. Everything will be touch screen soon so we need finger sized buttons to push instead of mice and keyboards.

Digg 4.0 needs a cool new icon with a Japanese style animal next to holding a microphone inside of a speech bubble, then all will be forgiven.

Most annoying trend I see is in fonts. "Bleeding Cowboys" and "Birth of a Hero" were cool for a while; then I started seeing them everywhere and it got old. I guess font ignorance is bliss.

Great logos, I have always had trouble with art and graphical design, I always hold these designers up as genius. I didnt do to well with mine http://bit.ly/aKaVt9
