This article is lacking. The most common problem is software that loads at startup.
Start>Run>msconfig>Startup tab> uncheck items that do not need to run at startup.

hey guys does it actually makes pc faster???????????????????
williamhooperJan 24, 2011
This has been dugg a lot and I don't find it that helpful :P I find that some of the Free download software built around making your computer fast actually makes it slower so you buy there product to make it fast which it most likely wouldn't. :P but I do have Comcast and I use there toolbar to check if I have virus's sometime I do and it seems to run faster :P And that's all. some downloads have frozen my comp Firefox checks downloads for virus before you can open them so use firefox if you are cool :P Also follow me :D and ill follow you :P

Agree with @cybersaur. Loading apps at startup make your computer starts slower that it should have done....even make it run slower like an old machine. Go to task manager see what your machine has loaded and fix it. That's really help.

Usually it's not just virus, that's the most simple answer but, it always good to check by application. Sometimes, some programs use up too much memory. Even an Anti-virus can do that. Obviously, it also depends on system configuration.

This download has a tool bar which causes problems on PC's and almost installed without allowing at first and was stopped. How trusted is this?
BeaconChronicleFeb 14, 2011
I use Norton 360 which has all registry, backup, cleaning, firewall, antivirus in the same package. I really cant say if the registry fixes work or cleaning out old files, but my computer always runs fast. I schedule Norton to do it automatically when im at work
