i call shenanigans also. i'm a minimalist and have pretty much no security software on my computer and haven't had any problems. you're either a dirty liar, or a dirty liar. Unless your running windows 95, there is no easy way to spontaneously start generating viruses unless you already had one.

It always amuses me that the Mac ad campaigns wax lyrical about doing 'fun stuff' on your computer, like, um, making photo slideshows (how exciting!). But then Macs are almost totally inept at gaming, where PCs rule the roost on that front.Moral: buy a machine that lets you work, and lets you play. Buy a PC.
