I hope they DO close it, because iphone is still a much better smarphone system, mostly because of all the carriers do to f**k up Android. When you have to root your Android phone and hope that hackers manage to create a mod like Cynogen for your phone just to have a polished experience, then f**k the current system. There's nothing really "open source" about Android when the carriers lock you down, the manufacturers put on laggy overlays, and getting Android updates becomes impossible.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
Personally I love that fact that Android has a thriving community of thriving firmware mods. Android more open than Apple in every way...personally I would love it to be more so.

If all the use Motorola for is to abuse and beat up Apple I am all for it. I just hope they dont try to close loop the marketplace like Apple.

I can only hope. Motorola has some of the more solid Android phone designs IMO. I don't want my phone to feel cheap/weak so I am picky.
