torrentfreak.com — An early Alpha release of the long awaited Mac version of the popular BitTorrent client uTorrent has leaked to the public. The application is still in development, but most features seem to work just fine. As expected, the application looks very Mac-like, and better than its Windows counterpart.

?Torrent's engine is a little better than transmission's. ?Torrent also has a solid automatic RSS downloading function, so you can say, subscribe to eztv and grab every heroes episode as it's released automatically. Other than that, Transmission is fine.

Something funny about using Transmission to download a torrent of utorrent.....think it knows it's being replaced?

the "General" and "Network" are generic in OS X. There's nothing that's actually stolen. All the µTorrent folks did is follow Apple's Human Interface Guidelines ( http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExper ... ) like developers should be doing.

^^ The layout is remarkably similar and a lot of the text is exactly the same. They definitely started out with the Transmission interface as a base for development. For example, the bandwidth icon is the exact icon made specifically for Transmission.

Or, if you don't want to wait for the official Mac version, you can still get uTorrent's super fast download speeds and reliability by using VMware Fusion... check out my guide on corewerkz.com for the streamlined setup process: http://www.corewerkz.com/2008/10/10/fusion-xp-utor ...
