I hope someone with a Cowon A2 can answer this for me. The Cowon A2 manual states very clearly that the playlist is capable of holding only 300 songs. That is one of the three reasons why I never bought one*. I have heard ( but never confirmed ) that one of the newer firmware updates has fixed this. Can anyone confirm for me?*It has been about 5 months since I looked at the Cowon A2 so I hope things have changed but the three things that got me were:1) no gapless playback - half of my music has some sort of cross fade between tracks and having a 1 sec delay sucks.2) 300 song limit on playlist.3) The Cowon A3 has been rumored to be released in 2007 in Asia but I have yet to find a reliable source for this much less a date for the states. I don't know if I want to buy one knowing it will be outdated in a few months. If it is a few years off then that is another story. As for anyone considering the A2, this forum has a list of features missing that people want corrected. http://www.cowonamerica.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7953This is the firmware page with tons of the updates listed:http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/cowon_rn_a2.html

Where does it say that this device uses FLASH memory? This is an HDD based player!Flagged as innacurate. The abuse my mp3 player takes, I will never buy an hdd based player again.

Sorry for the comment abuse!I am the one who submitted the story, and I just realized that this player IS NOT HDD as many below have pointed out! My apologies! Please bury this story as inaccurate so that people aren't mislead!Again, sorry about that.

But it doesn't say (or I missed it) how it plays other than a headphone/bud jack.I like my Neuros2 (http://wwwneurosaudio.com) but sadly they have stopped producing it.Plays mp3, ogg, wav, and I believe wma but not flac. It has a headphone and a line-in jack, a 2.5mm rf jack, mini usb and a power jack. Built in lithium ion battery and low power fm braodcasting. So the cool thing is you set it playing and then put it on the seat next to you, turn on your radio to the frequency the Neuros is broadcasting and voila! On my computer (Linux) I rip to ogg, save the wav files, convert them to flac to save space.
