I have already switched to PS3 because of RROD and live fees. I can only imagine how many people will do the same because of this. I understand that it is only .83 per month, but its the principle of the matter. People are being forced to pay for all the newer services (eg. facebook, last.fm) even if they don't use them. I miss playing my 360 but I will not go back at these prices. I guess my Xbox360 will continue to be a bedroom DVD player.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

no one will. Remember, Halo comes out soon. (thats my therory to why they are doing it now).
wyomingsbgAug 30, 2010
I love my 360, and will continue to purchase Xbox Live even if the price goes up, but I agree, it's almost a matter of principle. New services, such as Netflix, twitter, facebook, last.fm, and espn3.com, are being touted as great reasons to join Xbox Live; but users can get that content for free elsewhere (PC/Blu-ray player/Wii/PS3). If I'm going to pay even more, give me features that will enhance my gaming time (this is a video game console after all). I'd like to see a larger friends list, with the ability to categorize friends ala most modern web services. I'd like to see more games being played off of servers instead of having an individual Xbox hosting the match. I'm fine with a price increase, but justify it to me!Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Couldn't agree more. I love my 360 and the Xbox service - it has everything I use entertainment wise: my gaming, videos (I use both Netflix and the Zune marketplace), social networking, music (both streaming through my Windows 7 computer and Last.fm), and my social life with my friends through parties/chat/msn messenger. This is why i really don't mind a slight price increase - it's not like their asking for a tremendous amount of money more. They're probably just raising it to keep up with the cost of providing ALL of these features to the community. But it's not like their service is unreliable or anything like that - the Xbox rarely has problems doing what I want it to do. Yeah - an extra ten bucks a year sucks, but it's not like it's not going back into the community. And hopefully they will use this to add new features like the ones you listed. There's never been a better time to join Xbox Live.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

victoro12Aug 31, 2010
WHY DID TWO STORIES ABOUT THE XBOX LIVE PRICING CHANGE MAKE THE FRONT PAGE IN THE LAST 2 DAYS??????????????????????
SAME WITH THE GOOGLE PRIORITY INBOX, 3 STORIES ABOUT IT MADE THE FRONT PAGE......................
IF I WANTED A S**TTY RSS READER THAT SHOWED ME DUPLICATE CONTENT A DAY AFTER IT WAS NEWS I WOULD........ O WAIT, NOBODY WANTS THAT.

If you want to complain about how you hate digg4, do it in one of the stories about it. Flooding every story's comments about it is just stupid.

Umm, what? I barely used online play and primarily used this for Netflix streaming. I might as well buy a PS3 at least then I won't be f'd in the ass just to use my system.
