Star Trek has done time travel to death. I hope this is not what they are really planning on doing. I was hoping they could come up with a story that mixed Next Gen, with Voyager and DS cast.

Enterprise totally sucked and anything with that pansy-ass weakling portrayed by Bakula is going to add new meaning to the word "suck"! The Xindi arc was incredibly yawn-inducing and that crap with the Nazis near the end. Here's the pecking order, folks:STTNG then DS9 then Voyager then TOSMy omission of "Enterprise", which didn't even like to call itself "Star Trek", is deliberate. It doesn't belong in the Trek universe.Oh, and Nemesis sucked because it was just another bad guy out to destroy everybody. We've been there, done that. Remember Insurrection, anybody? Story lines dependent upon good versus evil is just plain boring if you keep doing it again and again. Come up with something different, for Christ's sake!

Even though (nearly) every one here seems to think that the parallel universe idea is terrible, and would only be utilized in order to fore-go any continuity, we have to remember that for every choice made, the other choices available were made in alternate universes... so every thing that affects mainstream continuity affects the multiverse as well.I really wouldn't care what they make, I love every thing trek as long it's trek, and as long as they pay as much attention to detail as possible. Frankly, continuity can always be fixed/explained, but at least try to keep it canon, eh? However what I would like to see is a movie adaptation of DC's "The Mirror Universe Saga"... even though it's considered expanded universe... but that's up to Paramount to decide ;)Oh, and Nemesis was effen awesome!

Seriously doubt this is real.

Can't bash the tv shows, loved them all. And, I'll still go see the movie, even though there's only 3 truely awesome ST movies-Star Trek 2, Star Trek 4, and First Contact. The last one they made, Nemisis, was great till they killed Data, so it sucks.I just hope another Trek flick is done true to the fans and for the fans, and NOT for Paramount's pocket books.

You gotta be kidding me right, they are so starved for a good idea, they're gonna try another time line multi-cross over film, hmm, how many ways can this go wrong, hell it wasn't Scott Backula that killed trek it was Berman and the writers who didn't bother to follow previous cannon, but hey what do I know, enterprise was such a hit right! when you have to write a script to go from your universe to make the film work! don't make the film!

not a trekkie, just to let you know. But heck I liked Enterprise and would love to see it come back. By the way it wasn't killed by bad writing, its writing blew away the Stargate franchise, it was ruined by trekkies whining about how it wasn't like the old ones, that and niggling crap like "but they hadn't met aliens x yet" and "the ship looks to modern." God almighty, it must suck to realise that if you want to make another Trek show or movie you have to deal with a target audience that goes to pieces if they don't get "exactly" what they think the show should be. Its a TV show, its only purpose is to sell advertising time, so grow up.

First of all...Rick Berman isn't going to have much to do with any trek for much longer, thank god.His contract is up in just over 2 years. Rick Bermans power game is near over...do you know the day after Gene Roddenberry died and he assumed command on TNG, he went in and fired almost half the crew on production?!There are plenty of good stories they could follow up on, and that's where they had the most success, in following up. (Wrath of Khan)DC Comics did about a nine issue mirror universe saga back in the mid 80s, and it was excellent, they need fresh new blood to write these things, and Paramount knows this. And Peter Jackson, as great as he is at doing special effects and SLOW MOTION FOR THREE HOURS shouldn't touch trek.Simple scheme:Music-Ditch Jerry Goldsmith..his meandering and never themed March themes are boring and old. His score for Nemesis was so much synth and powerless. James Horner did great music for TWOK and TSFSDirector-Don't blow cash on some big name you dont need. Go to the classics who gave you great works..Nick Meyer did Khan and Undiscovered, and both were very well done!Editing-Do some quick edits, darker sets.Story-Less happy family crap..bring back the stories of UNIVERSAL real import, in politics and battle that people can understand-LESS "Science fear radiation blah"Comedy?-NO...Voyage Home was a POLITICAL piece with comedy..Final Frontier was Biblical garb, Insurrection was Prime Directive and NOT wide spanning enoughBad Guy--Get a REAL actor, a GOOD ONE whos known for a bad guy, or at least a good actor-Not Upper East Side Larry Luckinbil, not some british unknown picard look alike, and not Saliere from Mozart-have an always good turn bad-Avery Brooks from DS9--theres a twist!Have FLEETS of ships involved in long battle sequences...not just the enterprise vs the borg for 2 minutes.Set up a triology! As bad as Shatners Final Frontier was, his subsequent books, especially Ashes of Eden, were actually not too shabby!

I believe they should wait a few years and make a film set about 10 years after Nemesis. I think it should be a dark film, set in a period of crisis for the Federation. I think this would allow for alot of freedom in developing the story. I think they could even create 3 or 4 films on this one premise. They could use cast from TNG, DS9, and Voyager. They could even use it as an opportunity to tie up any loose ends left at the end of each series, i.e. Sisko's return from the profits, Riker's future as a captain, The fate of the Defiant after First Contact. They could use this as a way of closing this chapter of the Star Trek saga before moving on either with a series set even further in the future or with another prequel. I personally don't care for prequels. I think these movies should be action packed with massive space battles, new ships, and for god's sake lets see these ships survive more than a couple of phaser blasts. I thought these things had shields! I think you introduce new characters that could carry over into a new series. Bring a new ship to the forefront at least for now. Let them carry the torch for a while. Give the Enterprise a rest. For that reason, I think it should be destroyed. And not by some pussy warp core breech. I think it's destruction at the beginning of the first film should be the catalyst for what happens next. I'm not saying blow it up during opening credits. I'm saying that by the middle of the film it should be gone. I also think that whomever the enemy is that it should be a race or a group of races that are well established the the ST universe. Maybe portray it as a kind of civil war. Maybe have 2 or 3 factions fighting each other. The Klingons are an obvious choice, which is why it shouldn't be them. Hell it doesn't have to be an entire race, maybe just factions within a race. It should focus on the Bajorans I think. That would tie in well with Sisko. Maybe his return is the catalyst for their actions. It would also create drama for Major Kira. Sisko's knowledge of Starfleet secrets could lead to the destruction of the Enterprise. Okay, I'm going to think about this some more. I will check back periodically. If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions write them in

Ok seriously wtf is wrong with everyoneDS9 was the biggest piece of crap. The first episodes were the most boring crap ever. Only when the whole dominion war started things were interesting. And why is everyone hating on Voyager. I thought it was a pretty decent series and i actually looked forward to seeing the next episode. Sure there were a lot of bad episodes but if you look at any Trek series thats the case. Enterprise no matter what form its in was such a piece of crap. And any new movie with a parallel universe is gonna suck ass. A ST movie i'd like to see is where some crazy aliens from another galaxy mount a invasion on a scale never seen before and attempt to occupy the entire milky way forcing all quadrants to come together (except the cardassians cos theyre gay and i hate their ships) Picard the TNG crew and some Voyager crew (seven) should be in it.

Gah. While this movie has the potentional--key phrase--potentional--to be good, it will proably be an instant parody. In which it will be poked fun at this Star Trek parody site: <a class="user" href="http://startrek-parody.blogspot.com/">http://startrek-parody.blogspot.com/</a>

you read my mind. The klingons have contributed so much, they have earned the Jefferson right to be "movin' on up" to their own series. I can see it now the klingon channel; ALL KLINGONS, ALL THE TIME!klingon thunderdome, two klingons enter, one klingon leaves. In the series pilot, Wesley, Neelix and Jake Sisco are all "batlethed" to death. Joy.

why is the Enterprize like toilet paper? It circles Uranus looking for klingons.

First off... Enterprise was awsome!! The last few episodes (specifically the final episode) were some of the best television ever created.Second of all... DS9 is a complete rip off of Babylon 5. Find the stroylines online and read. DS9 copies every major event that happened in B5. The wars, the enemies, even some of the characters are direct rips. And lastly... Any movie that has Kirk, Picard and Archer has a lot of potential. All we can do is hope the brass at Paramount gets it right and we don't end up with another Nemesis.

I just now read Shatner's interview where he answered a question about the movie. I hadn't heard anything about it before this.3) Any news on the upcoming Star Trek movie with J.J. Abrams? I met with Mr. Abrams, and they have a really good plot going. [They?re] trying to fit in Mr. Spock and Captain Kirk -- the elderly ones. How you get a dead captain to communicate with [his] younger [self]? That?s going to be very arduous plotting. I?m going to be interested to see how they solve it. - <a class="user" href="http://blog.meevee.com/my_weblog/2006/11/meevee_exclusiv_2.html#more">http://blog.meevee.com/my_weblog/2006/11/meevee_exclusiv_2.html#more</a>Do you think they are going to do the whole time travel thing? I find it hard to believe William would like his character used in another Star Trek film without him being in it somehow. Would it be a cameo you think? Or would he be a major player in the film? Thoughts?I also came across some other forum, where they thought it could involve some sort of flashback.

What they need to do is make a trek show based on a special forces unit an set it during the dominion war...as we all know DS9 was the best series...and im sorry for all you 7of9 fans out there...jadzia dax is the best lookin star trek woman...followed closely br doctor beverly crusher...and once voyager started sendin back datastreams with all its wonderful new tech...you can be sure they started retrofitting all the ships...id put money on the defiant over voyager anyday
