consumerist.com— A blogger over at ZDNet realized that he could cancel part of his cable, order his shows on iTunes, watch movies on Netflix and save $300 a year.

I have read up on free to air , HDTV, what channels can you get? and is it worth it? Me, i enjoy the dish, but hate paying 60 bux a month, i only watch about 7 channels
can i get the NBA league pass or and college basketball games on ITUNES>> NO. sorry i don't have time to tape something and watch it later.. the only media worth watching that isn't a live sport or a movie is LOST... season 4 baby
I moved and never bothered to get cable hooked up here at my new place. I can get Heroes, Colbert, Daily Show, Simpsons, Olbermann and Maddow all on the Internet, from totally legit, legal sources (iTunes, podcasts, hulu.com, Netflix) and don't need to worry about the total sinkhole of money that cable television is.As another commenter noted, it'd be great if we could get specific channels for five bucks or so a pop but until they do that, I am more than content with my current setup.

I don't even watch tv, all I do is go on digg for several hours, then BT stuff, then do homework, then eat, then sleep.

Definitely the way to go, but there are a few variations to this equation. My preferred method is: Hulu + Netflix + Leaf Antenna +_ PS3 = Big Savings
