I was taken to the French store. It was cool though, I found an album on the rotating banners that I didn't know had come out, and is not available on the US store - I would have never known about it it if wasn't for this 'bug'. Nice work Apple.C.
I had this problem as well... I was taken to the Japan store for some odd reason. The only way I was able to figure out how to get back to the good old English store was to do a "Check for Purchases" which informed me that I was only able to purchase from the English store and made me an offer to take me back there, which I happily accepted.
Really, I don't know what you guys are talking about. On my three machines, iTunes 7.0.2 opened to...the U.S. Store. There's a clear menu item there for changing the country, so what's the big problem!?!
Yep, I was changed to the Japanese store a few days ago, and I didn't update. It was weird, but as others said, I just chose "United States" from the bottom pop-up menu and all was good.
