apple.com— "iTunes 7.0.2 adds support for the Second Generation iPod shuffle and addresses a variety of stability and performance issues found in iTunes 7 and 7.0.1." Fire up Apple Software Update!

I think its slow for a lot of people, might just have something to do with it being originally made for macs. Any mac users find that itunes runs on OSX better than windows?
Ever since iTunes 7.0.1, my PC will not sleep when idle... but only if iTunes has been run after rebooting. I think it's the iPodService keeping it awake.7.0.1 also has an issue with Vista. In RC1 and RC2, ejecting an iPod from iTunes would cause windows to immediately remount it. You had to "Enable Disk Use" and unmount it from explorer.Let's hope 7.0.2 fixes this.
Every update of iTunes will break myFairTunes, but only until myfairtunes is updated. This is because myFairTunes relies on patching the QT libraries at specific offsets, and these change when the libraries change.
I have a gen1 4GB Nano and I was able to drag-and-drop files directly onto the iPod without having them added to the iTunes library in 7.0.1. Didn't try it in previous versions.(Actually, I found this slightly confusing... I was assuming that the music *would* be added to the iTunes library, and was a bit disappointed when it wasn't there later...)
If you don't like DRM don't buy DRMd music. On the other hand I, like millions of others, am quite happy to rip my own CDs in to iTunes and listen to them on my iPod. There's no DRM involved there at all.
That NOD32 tip was money.. Thanks for the help, I was ready to punch myself in the crotch due to this.. This is the second time NOD32 has caused problems with XML files, the other being on my company laptop with IBM Thinkpad's access connections.. Once I excepted the directory, it was fine. Hrmmm.. Time to switch AV products.

Well this along with the symptoms displayed (being unable to update the library file if a large number or files are changed/edited added etc.) led me to examine my virtual memory settings under the Windows/control panel/performance/advanced/Memory usage tab and I noticed that for some reason memory usage was selected as optimized for "System cache" VS "programs". I changed this to programs and also while in the same area disabled the EP "execution prevention" feature of the INTEL processor."This should work. Let me know if it's successful.

I downloaded the update and now iTunes doesn't work. Nice job, Apple!
