dude i LOVE this website. I checked out the Ipod v. Zune article along with the IE v. Firefox and Windows v. Linux ones, and i greatly agreed with the results. its so funny how they just randomly descide to grade things.

it's only a smack down on the Windows platforms - pretty sure the Apple and Linux crowd could give a s**t if the iZune could be used for a TV remote

Obviously the immature apple fanboys will laugh at ZUne is prohibited in their cult to even think something better than the iPod may enter the market.Reality is Apple are placing themeselves in a position to let microsoft or another company steal market share. The reason: NO INNOVATION. Look at all the features other players have and features Zune have. What is the best Apple has done in the last 12 months? 1- Gapless playback (which may have been done back in the 3rd Generation if Apple LISTENED to consumers and not their egos) 2- Games; they have been on cell phones for years. Nothing Exciting. 3- brighter screen. WOW. And they call themeselves innovative. About the nanos, bigger capacity and a material that does not scratch. This nothing new, since we all know apple make this ipod that scratch so that people spend $$ on cases and thus they make more $$$. Apple really put theme selves behind by not coming up with something better with the 12 months they had. Not even a simple integrated FM tuner!! They dont innovate anymore because they think they dont need to, because the have enough fanboys. They will have a nice surprise. They forget that if it wasnt for the iPod, the company would bankrupted already. And knowing this, they are overconfident. Everything right know is set for the demise for the apple:1- Better players from other company's. You say these other players failed and your right, they failed because they didn't have the content. But know they do. Amazon raped Apple with the movie announcement. 2- Apple fanboys HOPE too much, it part of the believes of the cult, the same way Jobs believes and hopes he will overpower Microsoft one day. The only thing I have to say is 5%, even with the iPod triggered conversions and the new Intel macs. 3- The coolness factor diminishes everyday since I've seen even homeless (I'm not joking, I saw a homeless with a nano) people with one. People will find a new thing and adopt it to be cool because nobody else will have it.Anything Apple does from now on will be to catch up, not innovate... The window to innovate once again passed for the last time on September 12.

Ever heard of a concept called logic? You are arguing that the iPod will fail because of its ubiquity and that the Mac will also fail because it only has 5% of the market.

Well, lets take this a few points at a time."Obviously the immature apple fanboys will laugh at ZUne is prohibited in their cult to even think something better than the iPod may enter the market."Grammar and sentence structure aside, I would welcome another player compatible with the Mac. The Zune is not."Reality is Apple are placing themeselves in a position to let microsoft or another company steal market share. The reason: NO INNOVATION. What is the best Apple has done in the last 12 months? 1- Gapless playback 2- Games; they have been on cell phones for years. Nothing Exciting. 3- brighter screen. WOW. And they call themeselves innovative. About the nanos, bigger capacity and a material that does not scratch. This nothing new, since we all know apple make this ipod that scratch so that people spend $$ on cases and thus they make more $$$."Here I would agree with some of this. I was disappointed with the new iPod line-up and don't see it as all that different from what they had before. The price cuts were cool, but not cool enough to get me to buy a video player with a 2.5-inch screen. Or a 3-inch screen for that matter, since both the Zune and the iPod play at 320 x 240. But you knew that right?"Apple really put theme selves behind by not coming up with something better with the 12 months they had. Not even a simple integrated FM tuner!! They dont innovate anymore because they think they dont need to, because the have enough fanboys. They will have a nice surprise. They forget that if it wasnt for the iPod, the company would bankrupted already. And knowing this, they are overconfident."Apple is in no danger of being bankrupt. Nor were they prior to the iPod. Even the oh so vaunted 150 mil that so many blather on about that MS paid Apple is pocket change. Consider that at the time, Apple had no debt and over 6 billion in cash on hand. What good was 150 million going to do? The big news out of that announcement was that MS agreed as part of settling all the lawsuits would continue developing Office for the Mac. That was more important that MS buying 150 million of non-voting stock (which they later sold at a profit). FM Tuner? Why do you think I bought a DAP in the first place? To get away from the mindless corporate tripe of FM. You're more than welcome to it."Everything right know is set for the demise for the apple:1- Better players from other company's. You say these other players failed and your right, they failed because they didn't have the content. But know they do. Amazon raped Apple with the movie announcement."Hmmm, better player? Sales and market-share doesn't quite follow that through. I know how much you guys LOVE to quote Market-share. Amazon raped Apple with what? Unbox? Riiiight, check the sales figures. How much did Amazon sell with alllll those studios allowing them their catalogues as compared to just Apple with Disney's kiddie stuff."2- Apple fanboys HOPE too much, it part of the believes of the cult, the same way Jobs believes and hopes he will overpower Microsoft one day. The only thing I have to say is 5%, even with the iPod triggered conversions and the new Intel macs."Wow! 5% now? Seems like just last year it was 3%. Markets aren't won or lost in a day. Will Apple one day be the dominant platform? Unlikely, but they could see 10% or maybe a little more. It's not that important to me as long as they keep making better Macs."3- The coolness factor diminishes everyday since I've seen even homeless (I'm not joking, I saw a homeless with a nano) people with one. People will find a new thing and adopt it to be cool because nobody else will have it."You buy a device for playing music based on how cool it is? That's really sad.The only thing about the Zune that could be considered remotely cool and innovative would be the wireless features and they screwed that up with even worse DRM than Apple could manage. Imagine that, all my OWN content that I ripped from my CDs now have MS DRM. At no extra charge! THAT's innovation!Lastly, learn the difference between know and now. You will look slightly less foolish next time.

"The price cuts were cool, but not cool enough to get me to buy a video player with a 2.5-inch screen. Or a 3-inch screen for that matter, since both the Zune and the iPod play at 320 x 240. But you knew that right?"I dont believe Zune will be the best player when it comes out, but I think its a very good first step. My rant is against apple. The iPod right now should have more features like the FM tuner maybe if you dont like it. If they sell a separate FM tuner its because they know people want it. If not , they would not spend money designing it. Its just greed in apples part not to integrate it into the iPod by default.. Learn to read brother, I did not say iPod was cool, I said people buy it becuase its cool. Thats the message iPod ads have.My point (that you have not refuted) is that Apple has to desperately do something to the iPod line. People were complaining about the small screen size in the 5g since the day it came out. How hard is it to make the screen bigger and use a clickwheel of the size of the nano? And fanboys are getting pretty excited with what could be the 6g or the separate video line and I believe they will be dissapointed... Count on it: Be it touchscreen or whatever, the 6g iPod will leave out features offered by competitors. You fanboys will be ok, but normal people will start to question wether to buy a new iPod or another brand. Competitors are improving their weaknesses, thats the difference. Apple just ignores its weaknesses and you fanboys just defend their every move.
