ipod-notes.com— "Did you know you can store notes to read on your iPod? They're very readable, but cumbersome to create. So we created this web page to make it super-simple."

yeah, the software looks good. i can see who submitted the site.. but for some reason this page kinda looks like spam, when compared to the previous one that was submitted.
Same story, different site, two days ago, submitted by someone else, got almost 900 diggs. ipod-notes is just better because it does web pages, th'assall. And I guess Kevin is good for a couple hundred more votes.
The notes feature in the iPods is more powerful than some might think, notes can include links to other notes and even links to songs. Some museums use it to make an interactive tour using the iPod.
People should really check it out before posting dismissive comments. This is actually a great utility. The iPod is surprisingly friendly on the eyes when it comes to reading things, in no small part to the click wheel which lets you smoothly scan the page. But Notes has two fundamental problems. One is that Notes can be no longer than 4K apiece. If you transfer something larger it simply cuts out the extra text. Secondly, the iPod recognizes only the most basic of HTML. No formatting tags (except the BR tag) work on the iPod, and instead of hiding it, it prints all of the tags it doesn't recognize. The iPod Notes Packager (almost) instantly breaks a single file into as many files as needed with the character restrictions and creates "chapters" which link to each other within the notes. Secondly, it also strips out any HTML that the iPod won't recognize. It does all this and presents you with a zip file you can extract to your notes folder, ready to go, in about 5 seconds.

No, the hard part was injecting the website name every other line inside the file for you.

Get a pda or smartphone. What's the point of reading notes on your iPod (assuming because it's mobile) if you need a PC to create them?

This is windows-based, but can convert from PDF aswell. And it can be used to manage ebooks once theyre on the iPod...<a class="user" href="http://ipodlibrary.sturm.net.nz">http://ipodlibrary.sturm.net.nz</a>

Yes, ipod-notes splits the file. (and X is 4000. Not even 4k. 4000 characters.)
