maps.google.com — The ad, which depicts Apple’s flagship iPod product has been constructed on the site of an abandoned mineral mine in remote western Australia. It has been in development for almost two years since Apple’s founder Steve Jobs aquired the location during a game of poker with (the late) Australian publishing and gaming tycoon Kerry Packer."

Actually, I'd say that was a coincidence. Do a coordinate search on Terraserver for Lat = -30.516354; Long = 121.336956 (use the Decimal Degrees - exact) and you'll get three results. The dates are 1/1/1999, 1/1/1990, and 6/1/2001, respectively.

But the Terraserver shows London as 1/1 1999 but it has the Millenium Dome (started building at July 1999) clearly on the image, so I'd say that Terraservers dates are busted. The iPod-mine is newly built (past 2 years). And it's not April yet..

It looks more like the 2GB edition of the Transcend T.sonic. It also faintly resembles the Zune, but does not resemble the iPod in any way.
