engadget.com — We know there have been a couple of crappy videos here and there on the web, but we finally got our own grubby paws on the yet-to-be released iPhone 2.0 beta, which isn't officially due until this June. It isn't exactly awash with changes, but here's what you need to know.

It was just one of the few lines that I skipped over when reading the news. I have a touch, and I'm on top of everything else... I just somehow didn't see that it was in June. damn. That really sucks, but I guess they gotta give time for the developers to create good quality applications, or else it would just be a mad rush to get out the first applications.I just don't understand why the 'hackers' would release the fact that it is already able to be jailbroken, while the firmware is still in beta ! They should really keep it quite until JuneAlthough, Apple really hasn't been cranking down on the jailbreaks as much as Sony did for the PSP

Nothing new.

It's 2.0 mostly because of the SDK and the (I guess) underlying changes that come with it. When you upgrade from 10.4 to 10.5 you get a few new features as a user but quite a bunch are made available to the developers.
