That's clever, but if we're talking about the iPhone instead of other media players, why not email yourself a .pdf or .doc (both of which it handles well) instead of a giant album of images?
You don't even need access to email to upload images to iPhone. And it's easier to find/make HTML ebook and reformat it for exact screen resolution than to find/make decent PDF made exactly for your device and which will be rendered with the same pixel-perfect quality as pre-rendered static images. With HTML, you can adjust the presentation of the book (font size/face/color) to your liking while with PDF you just can't.
