@ megamod, RE: " .. It's bull crap to say that the 3G can't multitask bc of hardware limitations...backgrounder/jailbreak anyone?"The 3G sure can handle multitasking.. barely. From the comments section FTA :" .. Cintax : @thechansen: Then why does the 3G multitasks fine when jailbroken?thechansen : @Cintax: I had a 3G and I had backgrounder. I would hardly call it "fine". bigtimes : @thechansen: I would call it "almost unusable".I put up with it, but I wouldn't force that on anyone else.

<zombies> <zombie>We think you should get those WMD's out of Iraq</zombie> <zombie>The holocaust never happened</zombie> <zombie>I really think you should buy this electricity service</zombie> <zombie>I am happy with the services that Apple have given to me as they know best.</zombie></zombie>At least when you root your phone they don't deliver sanctions. And it's a hell of a lot easier, as they actually don't mind. If I think the keyboard supplied is bad, I change it. If I want to set up wireless networking for those surrounding me, I set that up (doesn't need rooting). If I want to change the way my home screen operates, I change it. The situation seems that you're accepting the notion that you don't have a choice, therefore you're happy.

That was with full multitasking, where the entire app was running. The way Apple is currently planning to implement multitasking, they are piecemealing it so only select processes are running. Completely unnecessary for the 3GS, but the 3G could most likely benefit from that.Again... what's wrong with giving the OPTION to running it on the 3G? I remember something that Jobs said when they first introduced the iPhone, where he something along the lines of "you'll be able to gain new features without having to buy new hardware". Well... I guess he left out the part about artificial obsolescence.

^ Admitting to owning Apple stock is analogous with drinking the Kool-aid. Sorry, but you're in the Let's-push-the-Apple-agenda schill camp.

@tenoq"Stop thinking in subsidised pricing. The actually iPhone handset costs between $600-$800 outright." -WHY? $99, $199, $299- that's the cost of the phone on contract, you break the contract you pay $250 ETF, so that is far less than 600-800 (which btw, its 499-699, not 600-800) - besides, in the US, where else you going to use it anyway? So why not get the subsidized cost lowered - then sell it (like I said above) before the next one comes out, and you get 100%+ you money back (right now nextworh is offering $432 for a 32GB white, which I paid $299 for on contract) - USED

Yeah, it generates 20 people in the room reaching for their iPhone to see if they get a message. That's f**king retarded. When my phone rings I want to know who's phone it is. I jailbroke my iPhone 2G and replaced that with my own recognisable tone and it's so much better now.

:? What kind of innovation am I seeing here ? Nothing! 3.2mpx camera ???? WOW! HAHAHHA. The only thing out of the ordinary is that they're touting ADS in your phone as a feature. Everything else is standard on ANY other phone. And this 'update' is not even available yet. ROFL. iPhone users will keep living in their bubble. Stupidity is apparently bliss in there.
