engadget.com — See that guy? That's Jonny Gladwell from Auckland New Zealand. He's special no matter how you define the word. He's camped outside of Vodafone NZ right now which puts him on a path to be the world's first iPhone 3G owner.

dude, seriously. what could possibly happen if you waited for Friday, at home, on the couch, where you so obviously belong.

I'm sure a few phones are also in the hands of some developers outside of the Apple ranks as well. He may be the first one to pay for an iPhone, assuming that another location in NZ doesn't beat him to it, but I doubt he is the first owner.

that's sad. i mean it's understandable if you really wanted an iphone and you knew they were going to sell out immediately, or maybe even if the first person in line got one for free, but that's not the case. it's sad when you see someone waiting in line for something that could be easily obtained by showing up on launch day half an hour after the store opens..

LOL, bullies are converging on him from all points right about now.........

Apparently he's there on a dare, his friends are going to buy him the iphone if he stays until Friday. That makes him perhaps a little more sane? I don't know...http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1/story.cfm?c_id ...
