redherring.com — Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi says that Apple had not yet received U.S. regulatory approval for the phone, a fact that greatly reduces the probability that Apple would introduce the music-playing cell phone at its annual expo in San Francisco.

And where in that article would it say 'phone'?

It would not be smart for Apple to let a rumor like this grow so ridiculously out of control. If they were not making a phone, they would have shot it down by now, especially since this rumor has even been discussed on CNBC. At this point, if Apple admits that they have not, and do not intend to work on an iPod phone, their stock will take a major hit, and would severely hurt their market share of their other products.

It's not called the iPhone,!!!!!!! I'm going to bury every stupid story I see that says anything about an "iPhone." Apple hasn't even announced that they have a cell phone, not to mention a proper name for it. Call it "the apple phone" if you must or something other than iPhone.go ahead bury me now!

the FCC approved the Samsung x850 and X838 back in August 06, look at this beauty: http://technabob.com/blog/2006/10/09/samsung-x838-slick-new-mp3-phone/Howver it's not available for sale yet since Samsung has 'special' agreements with Apple not to release it until the Ipodfone comes out! do you think it's fair?

"It would'nt stand a chance in a market dominated by quality brands." - flag564Ah, you mean like my Sony-Ericcson that freezes up all the time with a display that can't be seen in anything but the dimmest of light? Or my last phone, a Siemens, with a maddeningly unusable interface? How about my buddy's Treo that also consistently freezes up?Yeah, Apple doesn't stand a chance with all the "quality" cell phones out there.flag564: opens mouth, stupid comes out.
