finaliphone.com — Crystal Defenders is a fun and challenging game. A fine addition to the Tower Defense category. However, the developers at SquareEnix really should be learning about optimal iPhone user interface for games. Staring at the tiny game screen for so long may make someone go blind! It's called Final Fantasy, because when they were working on the first FF, the company squaresoft(before merger with enix) was going out of business. So they named it "Final Fantasy," because it would have been their final game. Little did they know that it would be a monster hit.

This isn't justifying it or anything, but if you notice, they released a version for the click-wheel ipods as well. So basically, this is just a port from THAT game, which explains the tiny screen (4:3) and huge, Ipod-like controls.Should they optimize their games for the iphone platform? Definitely. But at least this explains why it looks like it does.

I somehow doubt this 'lawsuit'. There are hundreds of thousands of games with crappy UI's and are guilty of just being crappy games, and I'd have to say I've never seen a story on digg about someone claiming damages over it.
