Apple charge too much for stuff, but I figure that they figure they can because it's such good stuff they make that everyone will buy it. Not only mac fanboys (like myself) will buy this iphone thing. The iPod was and still is way too expensive and thousands of people buy those...
@Quix Unlike the iphone, a consumer buys vista to use over a course of 5-8 years. After a couple of months Apple will release another version of the iphone and all of you apple fanboys will eat it up. Vista=better investment of moneyiphone=fad
Yasher:But much more to market, distribute, provide tech support for, etc. People are being stupid if they only look at a manufacturing cost to determine a product's price.

buried for being incorrect. That price does not include the actual maufacturing costs, just the hardware content.

REPORTED AS INNACURATE. But what IS ACCURATE is the cost of any M$ development- $0.00 They just TRY and copy. Often with disasterous results.

Why is this even a story? So what if it costs that much to make? Manufacturing is only a small piece to the entire puzzle.
