apple20.blogs.fortune.cnn.com— Last month, Apple triggered a minor rebellion among iPhone developers when it was revealed that the company was rejecting submissions to its App Store retail outlet without explaining why.

By rejecting an application that duplicates behaviour in Apple's own iPhone software, Apple is protecting the consumer. Whether or not those are Apple's primary intentions is irrelevant, the fact is they're saving people time and money and making room in the App Store for more useful applications (so they're even protecting other developers!)Apple has a strong history of making decisions that benefit the consumer but most people don't see until much later. Next time they do something take the time to analyze what effects their decision will have on the consumer.
First, don't say "Ahem." You sound like the f**king comic book store guy. And fifth, the iPhone is a cool idea and a s**tty phone. I have one and the service blows. 2.1 update and dropped calls with a s**tty signal. My calls are just as crappy, except now it says full 3G bars instead of one or none. It would be a good interface if Apple opened it up, but they are afraid to because they don't have the ability to deal with the real world problems that would ensue (eg. 10 billion customer support calls from Apple types because "something's wrong" and they don't know what to do.)
@Tenoq not talking down the good points you brought up, but WGA comes under piracy protection that's rather unobtrusive for legit users (compared to say, spore) and vista DRM is about conforming to standards that Hollywood are pushing. As it stands, BECAUSE OF vista DRM, I am able to watch a HDDVD or BR movie on vista. On linux, the best you can do is rip to your hard disk and then watch it, and even that came well after Microsoft supported it.
Why do I need podcaster? It seems to be a solution looking for a problem. I already have a method of managing podcast listening across my mac, iPods and iPhone. Why would I want to have to manage them in multiple places?
