I have a question.. the pic shows them just sat on a plinth. So how does anyone actually know they are in a queue?Whats to stop someone walking up and just standing out side the shop (on the other side)... Its obviously just not dependent on people being nice to each other.Or people just to push past them and say what queue, now I can imagine a queue building up the night before with some barriers or something, but at the moment??Am i missing something?
Totally agree with you. Just the fact that this one isn't even 3G makes it a very lousy purchase, at least in Europe where 3G is prevalent. We even have some 3.5G phones out now (aka HSDPA). Just supporting EDGE will make this phone anything but cutting edge as far as connectivity is concerned. I'll wait until 2008 when I expect this issue to be sorted.
Actually AT&T (the same company offering the iPhone and EDGE) has been offering HSDPA phones (Blackjack, 8525, Treo) since last year. The people purchasing iPhones just don't realize how much they're being screwed over by AT&T and Apple. For most people, this is their first real access to a semi functional web browsing wireless device. They don't realize how slow it is to use EDGE for high bandwidth eating functions like Google maps and audio streaming. I for one welcome it. Not because it is a beautifully packaged piece of crap, but because when people finally realize how much they're being shafted it will spur demand and development of better wireless broadband connectivity.
Drag your asses to the nearest sprint store, get yourself a decent PPC for half the price, download sum 3rd party apps, and you have yourself a phone that's much more capable than the iphone (and shh- don't tell any1, but EVDO data is twice as fast) ...and guess what?? You might just feel special about the fact that next week 2 million nerds wont have the same phone as you :-)
