To bankrupt a developer would require a greater than 70% return rate.If you had a 70% return rate you should really be looking for a different career altogether.
He He... Apple is just following the Trading Model! We make a commission on ANY purchase not matter if your stock (ops, make that Application) goes up or down (make the sucks or your just a cheap-ass and are done with it)!
No my point was that even though the sales numbers are slow, I am making some money right now. Nothing to do w/ Apple developers which are making money b/c they have 20x more users right now. Even though I have 1/20 of user base, I am making a little bit, waiting for that user base to catch up.
That 30% has nothing to do with hosting. They host free apps for... free. If they take a 30% cut for doing nothing, they should refund the 30% they took and not put the burden on the developer. There isn't anything in this other then greed, it is completely unfair, and an example of Apple taking advantage of its position.
I too am making money for doing nothing more than writing an application. I don't have to worry about setting up payment agreements and lots of contracts. My app is selling quite happily.
