arstechnica.com — You almost could feel sorry for Palm, if it wasn't for the fact that the company squandered the best mobile OS on the planet in 2001 by failing to update it. As it is, Palm's seeming inevitable demise will likely be more good news for Apple, as it appears clear what those Treo users will be buying, and it's not a BlackBerry Bold.

See this I agree with. iphone users are using more feature than other smartphone owners. Somehow though I doubt the majority of people are using 10+ features. Though I have no way to substantiate that claim I vagualy recall an article siting a number considerable less, maybe 4 or 5. I don't have proof though. Still, the fact that one of the most important uses of a business phone is typing which the iphone does very poorly, gives me confidence Blackberry won't be "crushed" anytime soon.

"Hardly any hardcore PC builder convert to Mac."Well, me and three of my friends were hardcore PC builders, and we switched. And so much nicer it is too.

The funny thing is, the iPhone has actually increased sales of the Blackberry. Before the iPhone, only the corporate crowd owned a smartphone. Apple comes along and makes the idea of owning a smartphone "hip." Suddenly, every John and Jane Doe in the world who were perfectly happy with their Razr start thinking they need web-browsing and email and a music player on their phone in order to be happy. And while most of those new converts bought an iPhone, many of them bought a Blackberry or Treo instead. What the iPhone has *actually* done is help the Blackberry and the Treo crush the sales of ordinary mobile phones.

My point was that the chart declares iPhone as 'crushing' the Blackberry by comparing the Blackberry to the iPhone in the iPhone's market - consumers - without considering the Blackberry's market - enterprise. But thanks for the 'idiot' add-on, that was really appropriate.

Have you USED a blackberry? Not only does it have a web browser but it has an awesome web browser. And if you don't like it you can get Opera.

"as it appears clear what those Treo users will be buying, and it's not a BlackBerry Bold."Yup, thats me. iPod Touch sold me on the OS, and my broken audio jack Treo 650 is on its last legs. I hate it. iPhone 3G here I come, as soon as Rogers can get their act together.
