gizmodo.com — There's a reason why Apple called this the iPhone 3GS for Speed and not the 3GC for "compass" or 3GV for "video recording." Speed is the central upgrade here, and probably is the single biggest reason you would upgrade to a 3GS from a 3G. Here's an in-depth, hands-on review of the new iPhone 3GS.

OOOOOOOoooo... or you can save 200$, ditch AT&T and get an Omnia that is faster and better, or Switch and pay the same for a Pre....Btw.. grow a brain and figure out north from south on ur own... you shouldn't need a digital compass to tell you...

1st generation is getting phased out more and more. There are a lot of things your phone can't do from the App Store, and you don't have 3G.I'm not upgrading my phone (just bought my 3G) for the $400, but I will be getting the better one in June 2010.Maybe you should look into upgrading. 3G had a speed boost from 1st gen, this will be even more so.

What I'd like to see is some estimates on how long it will take for it to save the pictures on the GS. The 3G takes several seconds per picture, which feels like forever when you are waiting for it.
