anandtech.com — FTA: "The new 3GS renders web pages 54% faster, on average, than the old iPhone 3G. The 45% clock speed boost alone isn't enough to generate such a large performance increase, this is a new microarchitecture. Also, note that the 3GS' performance mimics that of the Palm Pre - another Cortex A8 based phone."

@nhavarwhat makes you think, that Apple did not plan to have SDK right from the inception of iPhone, and that they did not have SDK in works when iPhone was released? Do you realy believe that iPhone SDK was created in nine months from scratch?I'd bet the work on SDK started around the same time as the work on iPhone OS.

"Iphone is a mature platform with not much room for optimization while on the other hand the pre is not. So we will have to see how these numbers change."You do realize the WebOS is just a glorified Browser right? All of the apps for the pre are written in the same languages as web pages. My safari can multitask 8 apps at once too!
