yes, apple had mice with more than one button forever (if you consider since 2005 forever) but not one of them has been anything other than a steaming pile of crap. Any cheap bargain bin 2 button mouse will wipe the floor with any mouse that apple has ever created. Oh man, I almost forgot about that totally round piece of crap that they came out with before the current horrible shape that they are now. I really don't see how anyone can defend any mouse that they've ever made. They are the most unergonomic designs and they often click when you don't want them to and don't click when you do. not to mention the limitation that all of their post-one button era mice have of not being able to use both buttons independently. Oh, and I use the term "button" extremely loosely. Apple seems to be on a crusade to replace all buttons with their touch sensitive bulls**t. Lack of tactile feedback makes these mice practically unusable.
as long as it runs the iphone os I can't imagine them opening it up to flash. If they make it work on the iPad, it's only a matter of time before everyone jailbreaks their phones to get it on those.
"It's annoying to find a good light source, it feels slow (on the kindle at least) to load new pages, it's just not a good experience."Oh god... have you ever read a physical paper book? Those are such stupid complaints. "Omg, I can't read in the dark, and having to pause for a second while I turn the page is so annoying. f**k books!"Not to mention the backlight can be hard on the eyes if you're doing some serious reading (since apparently you have never touched a real book, that's probably not a concern for you), and the lack of a backlight also saves power. When you're reading a really long book, battery life is pretty important. It's going to be even more important on such a GIGANTIC screen. Because reading a book on a tiny little iphone is just ridiculous. And since e-ink doesn't require power to hold a page still, it's even more incredibly efficient. If I'm travelling or something and I want to have a book with me, with no idea when I'll be able to recharge, e-ink is amazing. Even if it didn't make for such an amazingly efficient device, the readability and easiness on the eyes is far superior.
If they had priced the Giant Ipod touch accordingly they might be getting a different reaction. Ever notice how our opinions about gadgets never get too far away from our opinions about how much they cost. Cheap Ipad = great idea while really expensive Ipad = sucks.
