@JoseMirallesyou're deciding between the iPad and the Kindle? lolThe two devices have totally different purposes. They are not competing with each other. It's like saying "I'm trying to decide between having a beer or having an orange soda"check this out:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_paperAlso, go to Best Buy, they have working sony e-readers on display so you can actually see for yourself what e-ink looks like.basically:If you want a device ONLY for reading books, magazines, and newspapers (with lots of other features centered around reading, of course) then get an e-reader.If you want a simple device to watch videos, browse the internet, listen to music, run apps, get an iPadI'm not a fan of the iPad, but I understand it is the right choice for some people. But the choice should not be between the kindle and the ipad, that's just silly.
While I agree Adobe needs to get their s**t together and fix flash....somehow, I doubt Apple is going to actually hurt the one floundering reason for the purchase of an Apple in the first place, for the last two decades.....which is Adobe products.Flash may be dying too, but it won't be due to Quicktime, or anything else Apple related. It will be due to Adobe's piss poor judgement, as usual. Also, I'm sure millions of sites will rush right out to redress their entire content JUST to make it work on an overpriced, locked-OS, gadget, and it's nothing more....that will be overshadowed in 3 years by someone else's.Who's delusional? Oh yeah, all those Mac scented fanboys who thought all cell phones would be "killed" by the iPhone. lolz
That would definitely help out Amazon. I'm currently looking into buying the Kindle strictly as an ereader and because I read a lot. Plus being a student and the cost of books is expensive. This replaces carrying all the books around. Plus the iPad is only visually appealing, have you tried reading a book without constantly having to position it correctly so there's no glare. This is where the Kindle succeeds hands down.
The kindle is more environmental cause the electronic ink consumes power only when it’s changing display. But the display effect which kindle achieve is not as good as ipad, especially it cannot show colorful pictures, and ipad can do many things besides reading books. So there are different products focus on different requirements. If you are a "books of words" fan or an environmentalist, buy kindle; otherwise, buy ipad~~~

but since you admit that, then using your own logic, an iPad shoud cost about $125 tops, since even a high end netbook can be bought for $500.

@FauOz: The iPad was designed for people like you. The Kindle was designed for people that actually want to read.

the amount of free publicity that Apple has got from this trinket is astonishing
