ksuther.com— Thanks to an update by iChax, iChat (an OS X instant messaging client) now has tabs. I think I speak on behalf of most OS X users when I say "Thank you!!!".

It's a nice update to Chax, to weigh in on the now iChat vs. Adium debate i personally use both iChat and Adium intermittently, both have pros and both have equally significant cons too, iChat is pretty much what you see is what you get while Adium is highly customizable and highly versatile supporting more IM network/protocol thingys that i could ever possibly need. While iChat can connect to MSN, Yahoo! etc... though Jabber but it's a pain in the ass process and it can only connect to one Jabber account at a time however making Adium look nice is a pain in the ass too and can quickly consume an hour or two of your life where as iChat looks great and builds right into the OS out of the box. Plus iChat supports both audio and video conversations with people not only on Macs but on Windows too. iChat also saves your conversations as individual files just as Colloguy can so you can mail them should you need to, something that has made my life a little simpler on a dozen occasions now. But as i say, both have pros and cons so i don't think either is better than the other - it would be sweet if the best elements of both clients merged one day.
its called Triton.i have used Chax for about a week and I like most of its features. The tabs one is the biggest feature i love. but what you use is the bubble-like windows. the bubble thing is so cool. tabs is alright, but i dont multi-task like i do anymore. im gunna uninstall chax later.

It's not called iChax, it's just Chax. Don't know how the submitter could have possibly overlooked this.

Personally, I use both Adium and iChat. iChat for the interface, and Adium when I need the features.

I am still torn between Adium and iChat, mainly use Adium for MSN etc, but also miss the AV feature so go back to iChat for video chats.

I hate the quacking too - that's why I changed Adium to use iChat sounds - lol.

Now if they can add multiple chat clients like yahoo and msn this would make this program even better.
