lazymotivation.com — The eBay kid, Ron Steen, who just put himself up for auction for 2% of his future income. The minimum bid price is $100,000. Whether or not this is legal in the first place, it is nonetheless a terrible investment, for several reasons...

I have to say I've been very amused by this kid. I found this on digg this morning and have been hooked. It has consequently consumed a ridiculous amount of my time. Could this be the brilliance of his scam? Was he really trying to sell 2% of his future earnings or was he just looking for the attention? I was curious about his eBay purchases as well so I explored a little further. It appears he is reselling items purchased with the starting bid as his purchase price. Hmmm, quite the little entrepreneur, right? I was then curious to see how he was doing so I ran a completed auctions query and found that since July 28 he has listed a whopping $22,500 in merchandise with a sales total of approximately $1400!!! That's just barely a 6% sales rate! What about eBay listing fees? This does not seem like the best business plan for a person who achieved 900 out of 800 on the math portion of the SAT's. Yet, I'm still very much amused and have laughed several times since finding this story. Perhaps he does have a bright future ahead of him...in stand-up comedy. Thank you Mr. Steen and best wishes to you!!

Grades mean almost nothing. The only thing I dislike about all this is how, because of stupid SAT Prep classes, universities look at SAT scores less and less. For the record, I have a 3.3, but got 2130 on the SAT.Your grade owns mine, but uh... seems like my SAT score rapes yours. How about that?

I scored awfully highly on my college entrance exams. Member of Mensa and all of that. I'm sensing a little light bulb getting warm inside my head. Hmm. May pay more than selling the items I do. Filing in the "future listings" folder for consideration. :-)
